Making Space for Support
In collaboration with our Library Settlement Partnership (LSP) partners,
we redesigned a space at the Main Library to better support
client consultations. The previous setup lacked privacy and didn’t
accommodate families attending appointments together.
Through a co-design process, we created a bright, private, and 昀氀exible
space that considers the needs of both clients and their children.
When not in use by LSP workers, the space is available to other
community partners—such as the Social Development Centre of Waterloo
Region, which offers eviction prevention support. It also serves as a
meeting and study space for library customers when not used for service
delivery.
I have a passion to explore and learn so books and
libraries are my go-to places. I love going to all the
locations in Waterloo. I am glad that I have the cozy quiet
corner in Eastside Branch for myself where I can escape
into the world of book. Additionally, my experience with
the staff has always been top notch they are helpful and
friendly. I genuinely appreciate the service provided.
