A Library You Love
To ensure the renovated and expanded McCormick Branch re昀氀ects
the needs of the local community, we actively involved residents in
the design process. Through creative and ongoing engagement, we
gathered input from children, youth, newcomers, regular users, and even
those who don’t currently use the library.
Community members expressed strong interest in features like more
study space, a larger children’s area, a dedicated program room, and
clear separation between quiet and active zones.
With construction set to begin in spring 2026, the future of the
McCormick Branch is bright—shaped by the voices of the community it
serves.
Spaces That Serve You
A series of thoughtful renovations at the Main Library enhanced both
functionality and comfort for customers and staff. New service desks
were added to the upper and lower levels, as well as the Children’s
Area, improving accessibility and customer service.
Comfortable new seating throughout the library has created more
welcoming lounge areas, while a bring-your-own-device bar supports
digital learning and offers additional space for work and study.
On the upper level, a newly designed study room provides a quiet,
昀氀exible space for individual or group work—and also serves as a
meeting room for our community partners.
