Dear little me, you had so much
So much potential, thought, and love
So much you wanted to be
I want to say I’m sorry
I’m sorry that you never saw the world
That you stayed inside while the sun set
But you always wanted them
The memories you’ll never get
Keep looking at the sky and at the clouds
Let that bright sparkle in your eyes stay
Make something so you can be proud one day
Never limit yourself to what others say
Other people might not understand you
Understand your laugh or tears
Keep being loud and joyful
Life will catch up when it’s due
Dear little me, don’t ever grow up
Stay young and hopeful and free
So you don’t turn out like me
